Microsoft has unveiled a new updated headed to its Microsoft Office suite for Mac, delivering a dark mode on macOS Mojave. Designed for the latest version of the desktop OS, the clean interface complements the full system-wide theme implemented by Apple earlier this year.

As detailed by Microsoft Office product manager, Akshay Bakshi the new dark mode is currently rolling out to select testers. Those enrolled in the Office Insider Program Fast ring can now download build 181029, adding the feature to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The mode is also joined by new styling for upper ribbons and icons.

Oct 30, 2018 Microsoft Office users on macOS Mojave are in line for a welcome update, as a dark mode is on the way. However, you might need to wait a little while before Microsoft makes it a little more comfortable for most users to hash out their masterpiece novel in Word in the middle of the night. Nov 06, 2018  This is the dark image and a clean image. The issue must be that there is a compatibility issue with Office 365 (particularly with the preview pdf function) and Apple OS Mojave. The dark image was created when Mojave was installed. The clean image was created this morning after I uninstalled Mojave and reinstalled High Sierra.

Microsoft may have delayed Windows 10X and Surface Neo beyond 2020

Microsoft's upcoming Windows 10X and Surface Neo products may not be shipping in time for the holiday after all, according to a new report from ZDNet's Mary-Jo Foley. This means that other Windows 10X devices from third-party manufactures also won't be launching at the end of this year like originally planned. Microsoft's dual-screen Windows 10X effort has been put on pause.

Dark Mode, available in macOS Mojave or later, is a dramatic new look that's easy on your eyes and helps you focus on your work. Dark Mode uses a dark color scheme that works system wide, including with the apps that come with your Mac. And third-party apps can adopt it, too.
